The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) and its Joint Venture (JV) partner, Chevron Nigeria Ltd (CNL), have concluded the conversion of five of its JV assets into the PIA terms from the Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) .

Windhoek Conference: NCDMB lists gains of NOGICD Act, urges Namibia to prioritise local content

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, has said the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, 2010 has achieved astonishing success in resetting oil and gas industry spending and in-country capacity development in Nigeria. He stated this in a presentation at a conference in Windhoek, Namibia, on Wednesday. He noted that recent discoveries of hydrocarbon deposits have increased the oil and gas reserves of the continent to about 126 billion barrels of oil and about 614 trillion cubic feet of gas.

Togo, Benin owe Nigeria $14m for electricity, says FG

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has said that none of the four international bilateral customers being supplied power by the generation companies in the Nigerian electricity supply industry made payment against the cumulative invoice of $14.19m issued by the market operator for services rendered in the first quarter of 2024. The companies are Para-SBEE in Benin Republic ($3.15m), Transcorp-SBEE in Benin ($4.46m), Mainstream-NIGELEC in Togo ($1.21m), and Odukpani-CEET in Togo ($5.36m).

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has acknowledged the resurgence in the oil & gas industry and commended the increased crude production to 1.6 million barrels per day in July 2024.

Court jails two persons for vandalizing IE transformer

The Lagos State Magistrate Court in Ejigbo, Lagos State, has handed down sentences to two individuals - Abubakar Alido and Ishola Olatunji for vandalizing transformers belonging to Ikeja Electric Plc. Abubakar Alido received a one-year sentence for vandalizing a 500KVA transformer on Michael Aladesuyi Street, Egbeda, under the Omo Osho 11KV Feeder, while Ishola Olatunji was sentenced to six months for attempting to vandalize a transformer on Karimu Laka Street, Egbeda, under the Orelope 11KV Feeder.
