- 19 officers in trouble over raid on nightclub

For conducting themselves in a manner unbecoming of Police Officers, 13 out of 19 officers allegedly indicted in the said unprofessional raid of a Night Club at Ikorodu, Area of Lagos State, are presently under going orderly Room Trial at the ‘ X’ Squad Section of the state police Command.
The officers attached to the Anti-Cultism Section of the Command, who allegedly invaded Lakers County Club , Ikorodu ,in an operation that appeared not to have been approved by the Command, were said to have been captured by the CCTV footage which went Viral in the social Media.
Following a publication on a National Newspaper ( Not The Lead Newspaper) of Wednesday, January 9, 2019 with a headline “CCTV footage exposes policemen who raided Lagos night club , the State Commissioner of Police ,CP Edgal Imohimi, directed that all the policemen involved in the operation be invited for questioning.
In a press statement signed by the Command’s spokesperson CSP Chike Oti, 13 out of the 19 officers that raided Lakers County night club in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state have been arrested and are undergoing interrogation at the Command’s X-Squad Section while the rest are expected to report to the investigation body before midnight.”
Meanwhile, Oti said a team of detectives have been dispatched to the hotel to get evidence that would aid Investigation and ultimately, the prosecution of the officers found culpable.
The CP hinted that the Command would never cover up for any officer who breaches the standard operating procedure of the Force while carrying out his duties.
He therefore assured that at the end of the ongoing investigation, the Command would in its usual manner, inform members of the public of the outcome of the probe.
