Mountains of Refuse Take over Major Anambra Streets

•Fears of epidemic heightens •

Mountains of refuse heap have taken over and covered major part of the Oba-Nnewi-Okigwe Federal highway, narrowing it to just a manageable passage.

Also, the popular Bank Road/Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital junction was the mother-of-all refuse heap as it covered a stretched of about 300meters of the all-important Bank Road.

Same were other key arterial roads within the state in Awka, Agulu, Nkpor, Nnobi, Nnewi’s Nnobi Road, Hundred Foot Road and other areas in the state.

Could it be true that the staff of the refuse evacuation company were being owed months of salary? Or was it because the state governor is out of the country on an economic/trades mission? Why has the agency (ASWAMA) refused to respond to phone inquiries?
