Lizzy Evoeme Alias ‘Ovuleria’ in ‘New Masquerade’ Sitcom Says I’m Not Dead

A popular star in the 1980s sitcom, New Masquerade, Lizzy Evoeme, known as Ovuleria, who was reported to have died on Tuesday is still alive.
Reacting to the rumours of her death, which went viral in the social media, from her Rivers State home, Lizzy Evoeme expressed surprise and dismay over the report.

Her words: “Iam here ooo, how do you feel when there is a report that you are dead. I have been receiving innumerable number of calls. It was one of my grandsons that drew my attention to the rumours”.

Lizzy Evoeme, in the sitcom, played the submissive wife of Chief Zebrudaya (played by Chika Okpala) along side several other characters, such as Jegede etc.

Evoeme’s death was said to have been announced on Tuesday by Churchill Ebhodaghe on his twitter handle.

However no details was given as regards the cause of her death by the initiators of the rumours.

Her rumoured death was said to have been confirmed by Tony Akposheri, who played the role of Zacchaeus, Chief Zebrudaya’s housemaid.

The New Masquerade was a Nigerian sitcom that aired on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) network during the 1980s until the mid-1990s.

It was created and written by James Iroha, who acted in the sitcom as Giringori.
