Fayemi Says He Has no Anointed Candidate amongst Aspirants



Ekiti State Governor-elect, Dr John Kayode Fayemi has urged whoever is contesting 2019 elections in Ekiti State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to intensify their efforts towards their aspirations in their various Community /Constituency saying he has no power to decide who will represent the party except through primaries elections, and whoever emerges through the primaries automatically become party’s candidates.

However, he maintained that he was aware of community and Local Government understanding, and if there is anywhere such prevails before the primaries election and all the leaders and stakeholders in such areas agree, no problem, but there are no zoning arrangements in the party.

Fayemi, who made the appeal at his country home, Isan-Ekiti Monday when some people came to seek for his support for the various position towards 2019 elections, but he made it clear in a very simple language that he has no such a power to decide anybody’s fate, so he prays them to consult their leaders and stakeholders in their various local governments and constituencies saying, their coming to tell him their interest is not endorsement, but they only come to inform him their interest.

Fayemi remarked that, he won’t endorse anybody for the primaries elections ahead, but assured maximum support for the party candidates after primaries elections.

The governor-elect hinted those who were in attendance to tell others that the fate of all aspirants lying on those who will take decision on primaries elections, but prays that everybody will get his /her rewards of their contributions towards the sustainability of the party as he urged the party leadership in their various community and constituencies to ensure those who have the zeal to win the general elections are chosen in the primaries elections.
