- Nabena Locks Up Onilu’s Office
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, yesterday ordered staff of the party secretariat home as he sealed the offices from activities as part of the measures to curtail the spread of the Coronavirus.
The development came on the heels of the forceful closure of the offices of the National Publicity Secretary (NPS), Lanre Issa Onilu by Yekini Nabena, erstwhile Deputy who declared on Sunday that he is the Acting NPS.
It was gathered that Nabena stormed Onilu’s office in the morning and chased his personal staff away before locking the office.
A court in Sokoto had barred the APC from recognising Onilu as the party’s National Publicity Secretary until properly elected at a convention of the ruling party.
Oshiomhole who addressed APC staff said the closure was for an initial two weeks period, but that it could be extended indefinitely as situation warrants.
He assured the staff that their salaries and allowances will be paid online as and when due, as he urged them to remain safe and apply all directives from government.
The pandemic has already taken toll on socio economic activities in the country.
