Buhari will Garner More Votes from Nigerians in 2019, Says Usani


The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani has stated that the President, Mohammadu Buhari will garner more votes in next year’s election than the previous one because the common man is pleased with his performance.

He maintained that those who are critical of the president are criminal elements that are afraid of what awaits them in in the president’s second term and their propaganda will have no bearing in next year’s elections.

Pastor Usani Uguru made this known in Calabar during the official inauguration of the executives of the Usani Youth Movement. The movement which is made up of youths spread across the 18 local government areas of the state.

According to him: “All the abuses and propaganda we hear on the radio is made by the criminals who are afraid of what awaits them during the president’s second term but the common people know that the president is working and deserves to continue, hence the votes the president will garner in 2019 will be more.

“The victory of the president in next year’s election is not in doubt. The second term of the president Buhari administration will show the coming to fruition of the several programmes currently being put in place by the president”.

He emphasized that the government prioritizes the provision of infrastructure in the country as well as the welfare of youths who are the future of the country. He said presently several projects are ongoing in the region and human capacity for the youths has been placed in the front burner.

“In terms of human capacity building, I know that the government has trained over 500 youths in human capacity development and various vocations particularity in the state and these youths have been empowered with between 300, 000 and 500, 000.

“In infrastructure, we have built a comprehensive health centre in Yala local government area to cater for the health needs of the people. The NDDC has provided several desks and books to schools in the region, as well as a cassava mill in Yala local government area and right now, Julius Berger is appointing community liaison officers in preparation for takeoff of the dualisation of the Odukpani – Itu – Ikot Ekpene Road”, he said.

He charged youths to collect their PVC and get involved in the political development of the country in order to make the future of the country better than what it is today.

In his remarks, the chairman of the occasion Henry Egbe Ayuk commended the youths stressing that he has seen commitment, enthusiasm and interest from the youths.

He said in the past 19 years, the destination of the state has not been defined and the youths and the congregation of the youths will help change the exciting situation.

On his part, the Commissioner representing Cross River in the Niger Delta Development Commission, Sylvester Nsa charged the youths on the socio-political development of the state.

He enjoined the youths to have mentors and not godfathers because whereas the godfather sells positions and arms the youths, a mentor teaches the mentee how to fish and encourages him to have a viable future maintaining that the Minister embodies a good mentor for the youths of the State.
