2019: Be Ready to Retake Power, Obi to Anambra PDP

The vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Peter Obi has charged members in Anambra State to brace up to retake power, come 2019 poll.

The Vice Presidential candidate who took the stand to speak to the visibly enthusiastic members weekend at the party’s state secretariat in Awka at a well-attended stakeholders meeting, observed that, “It is time for us to work hard to achieved success come 2019 general election….

“We have been outside for too long. It is not about complaining, but about working to deliver your area.

“This is the time for us to work hard to regain government again. We assure you that we will run a very robust campaign. It is not campaign time yet, what I am doing is to charge you, and let you know what we expect from you once the campaign starts.

“I will return to address you, people, again before the campaigns start on 18th November, and when we come, we will tell you where we stand, and the strategy we intend to adapt to ensure victory.”

Speaker after speaker assured of their avowed resolve to work for the triumph of the party at the coming general elections, her presidential flag bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar, and his running mate, Obi.

They also gave assurance of their loyalty, promising to work assiduously to ensure PDP’s victory both at national and state levels.

They used the opportunity to set up a Contact and Mobilization committee to help actualise its victory in 2019.

The stakeholders also expressed implicit confidence in the leadership of the party executive in the state led by Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, and urged the party’s caucus to reach out to members and the entire people of the state irrespective of party leanings to ensure a landslide success at the polls in 2019.

Other bigwigs from all parts of the country in attendance included the PDP governorship candidate in last year’s election in the state, Mr Oseloka Obaze, Chief Okey Muo Aroh and other key past and present national and state assembly members.
