Robbery appear to have taken a new dimension in Lagos metropolis, as robbers now operate as tricycle drivers, popularly called ‘Keke maruwa’, to disposes their victims.
According to Police recent revelation, this new gang of robbers feign as genuine ‘Keke maruwa’ transport operators and when people board their vehicle’, they would taken to isolated place and robbed.
Parading three members of such gang at his command headquarter, Ikeja, Lagos, State Police Command boss, Mr. Edgal Imohimi, said the gang usually operates along Ebute- Ero, Lagos Island and Apapa axis of the state.
Edgal who exhibited some of the items recovered from the suspects as, one tricycle with registration number BDG 318 AE, Huawie and Itel Android phones, said the suspects would be arraigned before a competent court after investigations.
The three suspects including a woman, are 21-years-old Monsuru Tiamiyu, Jamiu Hammed, 20-years-old and 40-years-old Queen Victor.
In a related development, the Police in Lagos also nabbed a two-man gang of robbers that specialises in breaking into people’s cars by means of a chemical agent with which they pour on the window glass or windscreens to gain access into the car.
The suspects are Kazeem Akolade and Teslem Abiodun, in whose hands; the police also recovered eight Laptops computer.
