There are indications that the embattled Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, may resign his position as the Deputy Governor of the state in order to save himself the embarrassment of being impeached.

This is even as the Chief Judge of Imo State, Justice Paschal Nnadi, has set up a 7-man panel to investigate the allegations against the Deputy Governor by the members of the Imo State House of Assembly.

The allegations border on abdication of duty, absence without official permission, among others.

Members of the 7-man panel are: Nze Saba Nze (Chairman), Charles Okoro, Barth N. Opara, Mr. Chika Anosike, Mr. Nwokona Chidozie, Mrs. Olivia Nwanekezi and Amadi Chidinma.

Meanwhile, sources say that the Deputy Governor may also leave the APC for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
