Eiye Cult Kigpin Nabbed in Benue State

The fleeing principal suspect fingered in last month murder of a Police Officer, Sergeant Collins Esiabor, identified as Malik Onebiri, alias kobad Baron, has been apprehended in Benue State.

Malik, who disappeared shortly after he allegedly fired the deadly shot that sent Esiabor to an early grave, at Haruna bus stop, Ogba, Lagos, on August 29, 2018, was tracked to his hiding place in Gboko, Benue State.

It would be recalled that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police(CP), Mr. Edgal Imolumi, had while parading eight alleged members of the notorious confraternity last week, stated that a man hunt had been launched to apprehend the fleeing king pin of Eiye, promising that the suspect would be brought to justice soon.

In a press statement released on Monday, September 10th, 2018, the commands spokes person, CSP Chike Oti, announced that police operatives were able to fish out Malik in far away Gboko, in Benue States.

Oti further stated that eleven fresh suspects have also been arrested, making the list upto 19 suspects so far in police net over the murder.

According to his statement, “After a mob comprising mainly of members of the notorious Eiye Confraternity, attacked a police patrol team stationed at Haruna Bus Stop by College Road, Ifako Ijaiye, Ogba, vandalised a patrol vehicle and killed one sergeant Collins Esiabor in the process, the commissioner of police, Lagos State, CP Imohimi Edgal, vowed that the command would arrest those behind the dastardly act”.

“The CP while making the vow, said the leader of the group, one Malik Onebiri, alias Kobad Baron, who allegedly fired the shot that killed the officer, could only run but not hide”.

“In keeping with the pledge, the operatives of the command attached to Area ‘G’ command Ogba, swung into action and have so far arrested 19 persons who took part in the crime.

Meanwhile, the arrow heads of the group one Malik Onebiri left the state immediately after the attack on the police team.

However, through discreet investigation carried out on the matter, police detectives arrested the said Malik Onebiri in his hide out in Gboko, Benue state!!
