Ahead of Africa Cup of Nations for Women in Ghana (AWFON) next year, Super Falcons’ Coach, Thomas Dennerby, has sensationally declared that he cares less in winning the championship for Nigeria for the 9th times rather his focus is to secure a World Cup ticket for France World Cup.
According to the experienced Women Football coach, inasmuch as he would love to win the Africa Cup of Nations for Women in Ghana, he will be more fulfilled to secure the World Cup ticket.
Speaking further, Dennerby said they were not going to be distracted by discussing about the final of the continental women football showpiece saying they are going to take every game as they come.
“It is true that I said first step is to come to the semifinals. But of course we want to win the tournament but the main goal and absolute the most important at all is to go through to the World Cup in France.
“And if we have good performances, we really have good chances of bringing back the cup. But, first of all, play your three games in the group play. Do good performances and then we see what happens, who is next up, coming up, who is to play and then we take one game, then we take next game.
“So, we cannot start thinking about final already. Because if you do that you probably forget to be focused on the group matches. And that’s the difference. I am not talking about the final because we have to play the group matches first. We have to focus on the right things,” Dennerby declared
