Former Wimbledon and England striker, John Fashanu, has sensationally declared that the French national team, ‘Le Blues’ are the worthy champions of the 2018 Federation of International Football Federation (FIFA) World Cup.
Fashanu made the declaration in exclusive interview with the Oracle Today Sports. He explained that anybody who is saying that the French national do not deserve their victory is being economical with the truth.
Speaking further, the Nigerian Football Ambassador said the victory of the French national team came about by good planning and many years, month, weeks and days of training and hard work.
“The French national team ‘Le Blues’ are indeed worthy champions of the 2018 FIFA World Cup which just ended in Russia,” Fashanu began.
“Their victory is a well-deserved victory. Their victory didn’t come easy you know. They never lost a game throughout the championship. So, what else does anybody need to know before accepting the fact that Le Blues are worthy champions.
“They played well and won all their matches. It is not a matter of luck but proper planning and hard work.
“The French national team victory at the Mundial came about as a result painstaking playing and commitment and hard work.
“I don’t think that those who feel that the French national team do not deserve their victory are truthful to themselves.
“I congratulate the French national team on their victory. They really deserve to be world champions. What do we expect from a team that did not lose any game? They worked very hard for their victory Fashanu queried.
Speaking further, Fashanu said the Super Eagles had a successful outing despite going out of the competition at the group stage considering the fact that the Super Eagles were the youngest team at the tournament even as he declared them as the team for the future.
“For me, I am of the opinion that despite the Super Eagles not making it to the second round of the championship. I consider them a successful team considering that the Nigerian lads are the youngest at the Mundial.
“The Super Eagles are the team for the future that is why the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) should ensure that they keep them for the next World Cup in 2022.
“I believe that by the next World Cup the Super Eagles would have grown to confront every other team. “So, I am very happy with Eagles performance at the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup. I believe that they will do well in Quarter in 2022,” Fashanu enthused.
